The Fire Department of NYC offers free “Be 911” CPR training throughout the year. The 30 minute training class in hands-only CPR is taught by Certified FDNY Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel.
The course offers basic instruction on performing compressions-only CPR, using a automated external defibrillator (AED), and <!–more–>take-home video instruction for ongoing practice. Students unfortunately cannot get CPR certification in the free “Be 911” training class, but they’ll learn the basics of CPR life-saving techniques.
As of this writing, there are three free “Be 911” CPR training classes with open sign up during the month of August 2016 around New York City. To sign up for a class, call 718-281-3888 or register on the FDNY Smart web site.
