New York State is offering citizen preparedness corps disaster preparedness training. The purpose of the course is to provide residents with the “tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster”.
Upon completing the course, students will know how to respond in a disaster situation and quickly recover. The citizen preparedness corps training course shows students how to reduce the impact of disasters and emergencies, as well as information about additional resources to help put into practice what they’ve learned.
Each family that completes the two hour citizen preparedness training corp program in person will receive a disaster preparedness kits – essentially a starter “go bag“.
The course takes two hours to complete and is offered all over the New York State area. The online course is available here but doesn’t include the go bag.
You can find the training events schedule and sign-up page for the citizen preparedness corps training courses here.
